Interpretation and translation by Julie Vola
Marseille/Baltimore is a collection of video/audio portraits of people from these two port cities, consisting of video interviews centered on their unique connection to a single technological object they use on a daily basis and photographic images of the chosen object in its setting within their home. This bi-lingual project reveals the extent to which technology is intimately intertwined with every aspect of human life and exposes cultural differences in attitudes towards technology. The project also existed as a stand-alone website.
